Telomeres are non-coding DNA sequences found at the ends of chromosomes. Telomeres function to maintain the stability and integrity of chromosomes so that there is no fusion and fusion with other chromosomes, or degradation by nuclease enzymes. Telomere dysfunction can lead to cancer or pathological aging, depending on the integrity of the DNA damage response

The Telomere Study Center is a research center that specifically examines the acceleration of telomere shortening or lengthening, which is an indicator of degenerative diseases and cancer. Research at the Telomere Study Center relates to natural and synthetic (chemical) substances that influence telomere damage. Established in 2015, equipped with new equipment since 2017 and ready to play an active role in nation building through research

Allah SWT commands His creation to consume halal and thoyyib foods. Many food and beverage products halal status are not settled yet. Along with the development of laboratory technology, the food ingredients or products halal assessment can be carried out in the laboratory

As a layman, of course it is very difficult to know whether the food he consumes is halal or haram. Nowadays, the technology for making/producing laboratory equipment is developing very rapidly, so that with this equipment, halal assessments of materials and/or products can be carried out in the laboratory.

On December 2014, 15, Halal Research Center (HRC) of YARSI University was established, supported by adequate equipment to assess the halal and or thoyyiban status of a product.

The establishment of the laboratory, God willing, can help the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) and the Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) in Indonesia to carry out their duties and functions, as well as help people who need laboratory testing.

Vision

Making Halal Research Center a means of halal and thoyyiban testing at the national and international levels

Mission

  1. Providing halal and thoyyiban testing service for food, medicine, cosmetics, and other products
  2. Conducting research in halal and thoyyiban status, including developing methods, instruments and product innovation.
  3. Conducting training/workshops/seminars in halal and thoyyiban status, both at the national and international levels.
  4. Providing assistance to industries in the production of halal products.
  5. Collaborating with halal inspection institutions, academics, halal laboratories and institutions, both within and outside the country.

The YARSI University Stem Cell Research Center was founded in 2012 with the first Head of the Center, Dr. Restu Syamsul Hadi, M.Kes, who served for 2 terms until 31 July 2021, is currently being continued by Dr. Dr. Indra Kusuma, M. Biomed. For almost ten years, the Stem Cell Research Center has succeeded in mastering cell culture technology, cell cryopreservation and primary cell isolation, specializing in isolating fibroblast and keratinocyte cells from preputial skin tissue. This expertise has encouraged the YARSI University Stem Cell Research Center to become a place for researchers and students to gain knowledge, obtain the skills and cells needed for their research both from the YARSI University academic community and from other institutions such as UI, USAKTI, USU, ITB, Prostem, and SCI -Kalbe Farma.

In relation to this, YARSI University and other research Centers established the Center for stem cell studies in XNUMX, under the coordination of the Research Institute. The Center has been fully equipped to supports research and is ready to take part actively in nation building through research

Vision

To become the Center for stem cell research which is able to compete both nationally and internationally and plays an active role in nation development through innovative and inspiring research as an effort to improve the life and health quality.

Mission

  • Improving research implementation standards accordingly Good Laboratory Practice and ISO 17025
  • Developing regenerative medicine science communication skills
  • Donate cell/stem cell products that are beneficial to society

Tagline: Quality, Impact, Sustainable

Throughout 2021, the Stem Cell Research Center has participated in 4 standard CPOB trainings held by BPOM for institutions and researchers in Stem Cell Innovation and Vaccine Development. Knowledge of how to make good medicines is very important for innovation researchers who intend to produce medicine/therapy products that are regulated by BPOM.

The Directorate of Drug, Narcotics and Precursor Production Supervision at BPOM held the first training on April 20-22 2021, followed by the CPOB PRECISION Training on August 3-5 2021 and CAPA Syllabus Technical Guidance on August 24-25 2021, as well as stage 2 CPOB PRECISION on 13-15 September 2021
