We are happy to come to Yarsi University. This visit is part of a return visit to the UST Angelicum College campus. Previously, representatives of Yarsi University, Vice Chancellor IV of Yarsi University, Prof Dr Nurul Huda, S.E.M.M., M.Si (Prof Nurul) and colleagues, had visited UST Angelicum College in Manila, Philippines.
The Rector and President of UST Angelicum College Philippines, Fr. John Stephen P. Besa, OP (Fr. John) stated while at Yarsi University, Wednesday, 19 February 2025.
Furthermore, Fr. John said that from UST Angelicum College Philippines came with a group, Director for Financial Affairs, Fr. Noel Kristoffer R. Castor, OP, Director for Religious Affairs, Fr. John Andrew S. Bautista, OP, Coordinator for Community Engagement, Fr. Jerone R, Geronimo, OP, Director for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Eunice Mareth Q. Areola, Ph.D. HSG, Chair for Business and IT Programs, Dr. Grace N. Hilario and two chaplains, Fr. Roger C. Quirao, OP and Fr. Mhandy S Malijan, OP.
At Yarsi University, Fr. John talked a lot about mutually beneficial cooperation between the focus of study program development in business economics, business management, lecturer and student exchanges, and joint conferences.
‘Thank you, the Rector of Yarsi University, Prof. Dr Fasli Jalal, Ph.D (Prof Fasli), the vice-rectors, directors and deans for welcoming us so warmly to Yarsi University,’ concluded Fr John.
Meanwhile, Prof Fasli said, welcome to the 58-year-old Yarsi University. Yarsi University is very open to collaboration with universities abroad. The Philippines UST Angelicum College is no exception. This is part of the FIBAA international accreditation process. ‘From this collaboration, we hope that Yarsi University will excel,’ said the Rector of Yarsi University.
Meanwhile, Prof. Nurul emphasized that the activities were carried out in preparation for the FIBAA international accreditation of seven study programmes at Yarsi University. FIBAA accreditation is one of the globally recognized quality standards for higher education.
The implementation of this activity is part of the support of LLDikti III in connecting Yarsi University with universities in several countries, including the Philippines.
In addition, LLDikti III helps select prospective universities in Manila, in coordination with the assistance of the Education and Culture Attaché in Manila and facilitates discussions between Yarsi and UST Angelicum College.
According to Prof. Nurul, the campus has advantages in communication science, because it has excellent television and radio mass media facilities and practicum rooms. In addition, the campus excels in tourism and international education as well as business studies.
