The Regional Medical Olympiad (RMO) Region 2 in 2025, held in September, served as a proving ground for the quality of medical education in Indonesia. The Faculty of Medicine at YARSI University sent its delegation to compete in the Cardiorespiratory branch (Cardiovascular and Respiratory), one of the vital fields in medical science that requires a deep understanding of the human heart and respiratory systems. Participation in this medical olympiad represents the institution’s commitment to developing student competencies beyond regular academic learning, while providing a platform for students to sharpen their clinical, analytical, and competitive abilities at the regional level. This olympiad also serves as a strategic platform to prepare future doctors who are not only academically excellent but also capable of competing in the international arena.
In this prestigious competition, the Cardiorespiratory delegation from YARSI University Faculty of Medicine, represented by Min Seok Lee and Raisa Shakira Qurain, successfully achieved a proud accomplishment by winning medals and trophies. This achievement marks a new record for YARSI University Faculty of Medicine and proves that students are capable of competing with competitors from various leading universities in region 2. This success is inseparable from the hard work, dedication, and guidance of the supervising lecturers who have thoroughly prepared the delegates. This achievement aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 3 on “Good Health and Well-being” as it enhances human resource capacity in the health sector through the development of cardiovascular and respiratory knowledge that will impact the improvement of public health service quality. Furthermore, this achievement also supports SDGs point 4 on “Quality Education” by promoting high-quality learning, access to academic competitions, and the development of student talents to achieve their best potential. It is hoped that this achievement will provide great motivation for the entire academic community of YARSI University to continue innovating and bringing honor to the institution on both national and international stages.
