Rektor Universitas YARSI, Prof. Fasli Jalal, Ph.D. kembali bertolak ke Negara Tiongkok (China) bersama Yudil Chatim, SKM., M.Ed. (Kepala Sub Bagian Rumah Tangga Bagian Umum dan Kerja Sama, Sekretariat Ditjen PAUD dan Dikmas, KEMENDIKBUD) untuk mengikuti ‘The 3rd Forum on ASEAN-China Private Higher Education Development and Cooperation and the 1st Annual Meeting of ASEAN-China Alliance of Private Higher Education Institution’ (Rabu-Jumat, 11-13 Desember 2019) di Hainan, PR China.
Prof. Fasli Jalal yang menjadi salah satu pembicara merasa bersyukur dan menyampaikan terima kasih yang tulus kepada Universitas Sanya, Provinsi Hainan, PR China yang telah menyelenggarakan acara tersebut. Selanjutnya ucapan selamat kepada SEAMEO RIHED untuk bersama-sama menjadi tuan rumah sehingga Forum ke-3 tentang Pengembangan dan Kerjasama Pendidikan Tinggi Swasta ASEAN-Tiongkok dan Pertemuan Tahunan ke-1 Aliansi Perguruan Tinggi Swasta ASEAN-Institusi Pendidikan Tiongkok itu dapat terlaksana.
“Forum ini memberi kita kesempatan untuk berbagi ide dan bertukar pengalaman tentang isu-isu yang sangat penting bagi ASEAN dan Cina,” kata Prof Fasli Jalal saat menyampaikan pidatonya di hadapan lebih dari 100 orang peserta yang terdiri dari pimpinan perguruan tinggi swasta di Negara-negara Asean dan China.
Prof. Fasli Jalal mengatakan Indonesia adalah negara demokrasi terbesar ketiga dengan lebih dari 262 juta penduduk. Sekitar 86% dari populasi adalah Muslim yang merupakan populasi Muslim terbesar di satu negara di dunia. Namun, secara budaya, warga negara Indonesia beragam. Saat ini, anggota dari banyak kelompok etnis bangsa berbicara lebih dari 750 bahasa dan dialek.
“Pemerintah Indonesia telah berupaya keras untuk menyediakan pendidikan dasar bagi semua orang, dengan meningkatkan ketersediaan, aksesibilitas, kemampuan membayar kualitas pendidikan dan relevansinya, dan memperkuat tata kelola pendidikan,” ungkap Prof. Fasli Jalal.
“Kami juga mempromosikan pendidikan inklusif untuk mengekspos siswa dengan keragaman dan menghormati keragaman yang kaya. Alheritage budaya yang kaya itu adalah bagian dari keragaman yang perlu dipertahankan untuk memperkaya wawasan siswa yang luas dan pendekatan inklusif,” tambahnya.
Negara Indonesia, menurut Prof. Fasli Jalal mempercayai bahwa peran pendidikan sangat penting dalam menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang kompetitif serta dalam menghasilkan inovasi dan menginspirasi bangsa. Dalam hal ini, sistem pendidikan memiliki tanggung jawab untuk memberi siswa pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan pemahaman yang kuat untuk menjadi warga negara yang baik, dan menjalani kehidupan yang bermakna. Pada tingkat pendidikan tinggi, selain mengasah siswa dengan tepi teknis untuk kehidupan yang kompetitif secara global, itu juga harus berkontribusi pada proses pembentukan masyarakat ademokratis, beradab, dan inklusif, menjaga integrasi nasional melalui perannya sebagai kekuatan moral, dan bertindak sebagai pembawa hati nurani publik.
“Oleh karena itu, perlu memiliki kerangka kualifikasi pendidikan yang menghubungkan output pendidikan dengan tuntutan industri terkini. Di era globalisasi seperti sekarang, kami juga mencoba mendesain kerangka kerja seperti itu dengan mempertimbangkan konteks internasional,” Jelas Prof. Fasli Jalal.
“Saya ingin mengucapkan terima kasih sekali lagi kepada ASEAN dan Chinesecolleagues atas komitmen mereka terhadap kemitraan kami, untuk keterlibatan orang-ke-orang yang lebih besar, dan untuk Kerjasama ASEAN-China yang kuat.
Tidak ada waktu yang lebih baik dari sekarang untuk berkolaborasi dengan lembaga pendidikan tinggi swasta ASAS-Tiongkok. Kami menyadari bahwa seseorang tidak dapat melakukan segalanya dan kebutuhan untuk berkolaborasi antara pemerintah, sektor swasta dan organisasi masyarakat sipil untuk memanfaatkan setiap kekuatan dan sumber daya yang menarik.
Di penghujung orasinya, Prof. Fasli Jalal mengharapkan agar mereka semua yang hadir dapat membawa pulang berupa gagasan, informasi, pengalaman, praktik terbaik, dan pelajaran yang telah dibagikan di forum itu. Dia juga menyarakan menggunakan wawasan tersebut untuk memperkuat kemitraan, mengidentifikasi, dan mengembangkan pembangunan kapasitas prioritas, serta merancang mobilisasi sumber daya untuk memperkuat Kerjasama ASEAN-Cina.
