International Collaboration Meeting in INTI International University, Malaysia

INTI International University is committed to integrate the strengths of its partner universities and its innovative, international, and personalized educational resources in Malaysia to cultivate relevant talents.

On March 29, 2023, Prof. Dr. Lai Yin Ling led a meeting with representatives from six universities from different countries around the globe, namely:

  1. Dr. Fasli Jalal, Rector, YARSI University Indonesia
  2. Dr. Muhammad T. Afzal, Rector, COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan.
  3. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal T.I, Campus Director, COMSATS University Islamabad Attock Campus, Pakistan.
  4. Dr. Shia Ben Chang, Vice-President Resource and Business Development, Fujen Catholic University Taiwan.
  5. Dheeba Moosa, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation, Islamic University of Maldives.
  6. Dr. Andriew Lim, Director, Hotelschool The Hague (Hospitality Business School), Netherlands.
  7. Prof. Dr. Nilufar Khodjaeva, Head of Department Translation Studies and International Journalism, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Uzbekistan.

 

The meeting discussed directions for future cooperation and innovative breakthroughs between INTI and the international scholars. Multiple areas of cooperation were identified, including education innovation, teacher training, cross-border education, research collaboration, student exchange, and community service.

Innovation in teaching strategies was suggested to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness, curriculum development, and learning technology. Teacher training programmes were also identified to improve teachers’ teaching abilities and professional qualities, which would in turn enhance students’ learning experiences. Cross-border education programmes and projects were recommended to cultivate students and teachers with international perspectives and innovation abilities, promote cultural exchange, and academic collaboration. The discussion on student exchange programmes will provide students with opportunities to study and participate in tailored internship at each other’s universities, which will expand their international perspectives and experiences.

In addition, joint research and technological innovation development are in the pipeline, focusing on solving social problems, promote industrial development as well as academic exchanges and industry-academic collaboration. Joint community service projects will also be explored to address social problems together.

The group also took the opportunity to explore other aspects and innovative breakthroughs for future collaboration, including developing distance education and online learning, promoting teaching resources and faculty exchange, and exploring scientific research and technological innovation in emerging fields such as Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. These initiatives aim to provide students with more learning channels and methods, adapt to the development trend of modern education, share teaching resources and faculty strength, learn from each other’s experiences and advantages, and improve the quality and level of teaching.
